Independent Sales Representative
GiGi New York (www.giginewyork.com) is a fast growing 5-year-old east coast based handbag and accessory company. GiGi enjoys a rich heritage from its parent company, Graphic Image www.graphicimage.com, who has been a provider of luxury leather products to stores like Barneys, Neiman Marcus and Tiffany since 1980. Our target customers are the regional stores serving the luxury/fashion destinations. We are looking for a high energy Independent Sales Rep interested in managing the California market.
We have a dedicated team that is passionate about trends and fashion. GiGi has amassed a strong following, in high-end boutiques, aided by an outsized presence among fashion bloggers and a very strong social media following. The line has wide appeal and spans both the fashion conscious and traditional customer with seasonal introductions of new products throughout the year.
Requirements: Applicants must have experience selling independently on the road and an extensive book of current contacts with mid-tier and high end specialty boutiques in the California market. Applicants must have a strong commitment to visiting stores. Showroom space is not necessary.
Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in outside sales to high end specialty boutiques. Able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends. Willing to travel designated region for appointments, trade shows and in-store events. Strong cold phone prospecting, presentation and closing skills required. Self-starter attitude with ability to work well independently. Love of relationship selling with commitment to long term follow thru.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Secure appointments with boutique buyers/owners and represent the brand in road appointments weekly. Prospect and vet new stores assuring stores that are opened both meet the company’s criteria for quality of store and that they are not in conflict with any existing stores. Attend and sell during regional trade shows. Organize and maintain a schedule for calling on and following up with all customers to develop and retain business through superior customer service. Provide National Sales Director with sales projections including styles and review progress monthly. Manage marketing information that is being sent to clients including brand identity, email flyers and catalogs. Schedule and attend trunk shows as needed. Process and follow up on all customer orders and their shipment. Research and review market analysis on customers and competition to identify new trends, needs, and price points that can affect our business positively. Report market intelligence findings to National Director of Sales.
Compensation Structure: Salary structure flexible based on background and experience, i.e. base, commission, and/or draw, etc.
